Over time, they have transformed into a collective of incredibly talented musicians, singers, songwriters, and producers. The result is a fresh and authentic sound that seamlessly combines their diverse musical influences while staying true to their roots.

Rock-n-roll ain’t dead and gone. Quite the contrary, truth-be-told. The purity and rebellious nature of rock music in the 21st century has circled back to the underground where it all exploded from decades ago — back to the “you had to be there” moments of melodic bliss, of sweat and serenity only found in the presence of soaring six-string riffs and thunderous percussion 'round the midnight hour. For over a decade, Andrew Scotchie has carved out his place as one of the premier rock-n-blues artists in Asheville and greater Western North Carolina. In a Southern Appalachian town known for Americana, bluegrass, and mountain music, Scotchie has emerged from the depths of the city to become a bonafide rock ambassador for this new, unknown, and promising in chapter of the genre.

Orbiting around Asheville's grateful music scene since late 2023, Suns Of Stars blends contemporary and traditional bluegrass with a high energy jam style.

At its core lies the trio of Alex Bazemore (guitar), and Asheville's own Jackson Chisholm (upright bass) and Johnny Humphries (mandolin), son of local Bluegrass legend Don Humphries. As Suns Of Stars has been gathering momentum they've picked up Alex Ball (fiddle/violin) and Gabe Epstein (banjo), both graduates of the ETSU Bluegrass program. Suns Of Stars members are all hometown heros in various musical projects around town which has led to great turnout at their shows. That, along with a massive song repertoire and growing list of original music make for a unique performance each time.

Music has always been profoundly important to me because of its ability to connect with a higher power. Whether attending a live concert, singing a hymn at church, or experiencing cultural ceremonies during my travels around the world, I have always been amazed by the ability of music to provide relief from the often overwhelming nature of being human, and all of the stress and anxiety that can be such a big part of our day to day routine.

I experienced my first sound healing with Billy Zanski at Skinny Beats Drum Shop in Asheville, and was mesmerized by the sounds and the shift in energy that was created. I realized that I needed to share this magic, this powerful medium, to elevate the collective vibrations of the world with love and positivity. I play an assortment of singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, and other instruments to create an environment that encourages relaxation, relieves stress, and nourishes our body, mind, and soul so we are able to acknowledge our blessings and be our best selves.
